Our History

In early 2002 the Learning and Skills Council for Cheshire and Warrington integrated access to its Local Initiatives Funding, TEC Legacy Funds and ESF Co-financing within one Development Funding process.

During 2002-2003 we received over 220 Expressions of Interest (see Table 1 below), all of which were appraised against our local and national priorities, resulting in 95 full proposals being invited. Following further rounds of appraisal and selection, 27 contracts ranging in value from 500 to 300,000 have been awarded across a wide range of partner organisations and providers.

Thanks to the flexible approach offered by Development Funding, a number of projects have been approved that will run beyond the lifetime of our current Co‑Financing Plan, which ends in December 2003, by utilising our Local Initiatives and Legacy Funding to fund activity from January 2004 and beyond.
